infoWERK is continuously improving the design process and strategy to develop training systems which fulfil future needs in the field of e-learning and integrate the learning process into the working environment.
The main focus is: "Learning has to become more effective and less expensive".
During the “World Airline Training Symposium" (known as WATS) in May 2003 in Montreal, infoWERK already introduced future learning perspectives. One subject of our presentation was the “Performance Support”, a system providing reference information, guided instructions and/or tutorials, subject matter advice and hints on how to perform a task more efficiently.
Most of our customers from the transport industry who operate on a tight budget with a high employee turn over and a considerable number of outstations require new solutions to transfer knowledge. This demand makes traditional training and paper or CD-ROM documentation expensive and inefficient and it is no longer suitable to respond to the rapid changes in time.
A performance support system is able to:
- reduce the complexity to perform a task (process simplification) - provide a just in time performance information - provide a “decision support system” that enables the employee to identify the appropriate action.
infoWERK´s product line starting from the highly improved new “Learning Management System” via its different interfaces to our various multimedia-based learning contents follow the “Performance Support” philosophy. This ensures our business partners, on the one hand, to provide their employees and customers with an effective and advanced training tool, on the other hand, to save training costs dramatically. infoWERK has just completed a study based on a comparison of training costs.
