The new "Dangerous Goods Web-Based Training" is now available at infoWERK
Nowadays, dangerous goods are carried regularly and routinely by air all over the world. It must be ensured, that they do not put an aircraft and its occupants at risk. This is only possible when certain precautions are followed.
These precautions are set by international Standards, and each State, under the provisions of the Chicago Convention, is required to introduce these standards into national legislation. This system ensures governmental control over the carriage of dangerous goods by air and gives world-wide harmonization of safety standards.

Training is an essential element to ensure a safe transport of dangerous goods. International regulations require that every person who might have contact with dangerous goods has to complete a basic training and a refresher at least every two years.

The area of the required training and the depth of the required knowledge depends upon the area those persons work. For European operators, these requirements are set out by JAR OPS 1 and apply for Operators holding a permanent approval to carry dangerous goods.

infoWERK can now offer such a training. It is based on the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and serves as a training aid only.

The training is divided into the following learning topics

             -   General Philosophy incl. Limitations on Dangerous Goods in air transport
             -   Package Marking and Labelling
             -   Classification of Dangerous Goods, Hazard Classes and Hazard Labels
             -   Packing Requirements, Markings and packing instructions
